Meatball Subs with Provolone

This is a great dinner I make all the time. It is even better with some homemade pesto. I always make extra meatballs and freeze them. They go great in spaghetti or just with some tomato sauce.

Meatball Subs with Provolone

Serves 8

40 minutes

1 lb. ground beef

1 onion, chopped

1 green pepper, chopped

½ cup bread crumbs

1 egg

1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

1 garlic clove, minced

1 can of pasta sauce

4 slices of provolone cheese

1/3 cup parmesan cheese, grated

8 dinner rolls, lightly toasted

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine ground beef, onion, green pepper, crumbs, and eggs in large bowl. Season with Worcestershire sauce, garlic, salt and pepper; mix well. Form mixture into 8 meatballs. Place meatballs in baking dish (9 x 13 inch) and cover with pasta sauce. Bake meatballs in oven for 25 minutes. Place meatball, spoonful of sauce, half a slice of provolone cheese, and sprinkle parmesan cheese. Place sandwiches in hot oven; bake until cheeses melt, about 7 minutes.
